Dr. Lapayowker offers several different Birth Control options for her patients. She counsels each patient extensively and together they plan the best method for each woman. Dr. Lapayowker reviews at length the product, its mode of action and both risks, benefits and side effects.

Dr. Lapayowker offers several different forms of long acting yet reversible contraception devices such as the Mirena, Kyleena, and Paraguard. These intrauterine devices or IUDs, and the Nexplanon®, the newest subdermal implant, can prevent unplanned pregnancies from 3-10 years depending on the product chosen. They are able to be placed in a relaxed office based setting with little or no discomfort.

The Nexplanon is a single thin 4cm. implant that is place under local anesthetic under the skin in the upper inner aspect of the patient’s arm. It is a hormone releasing device which has little or no side effects.
